Amanda Cuthbert

Approach:

Amanda (she/her) is a compassionate and creative counsellor, narrative therapist and lived experience supervisor. She takes a curious and receptive approach to counselling and supervision, adapting her approach to meet her clients' evolving needs. Amanda is committed to building authentic and safe therapeutic relationships to support people in navigating this world and in gaining greater ownership of their stories and lives. 

 

Experience:

Amanda has worked in mental health and community services for the past nine years, with extensive experience in multi-disciplinary and transdisciplinary teams. She has worked across various sectors, including;

  • Government and Non-Government

  • homelessness

  • domestic and family violence

  • rural and remote

  • lived experience

  • NDIS

  • youth

  • alcohol and other drugs

  • inpatient and urgent care​

 

Amanda is proudly queer, neurodivergent and a lived experience advocate. She is dedicated to the development of innovative and peer-led community groups and services that foster compassion, respect and equity.

 

Leisure:

In her spare time, Amanda enjoys social dancing, tinkering with analogue cameras, listening to music and podcasts, and spending time with friends and family.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Narrative Therapy and Community Work (Melbourne University)

  • Bachelor of Visual Arts (University of South Australia)

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health
